NI MASCHINE Update to 2.4.5

Well here is some great news from Native Instruments – If you are lucky enough to own MASCHINE 2 software then you are entitled to this FREE software update of MASCHINE to version 2.4.5. All you have to do is download from their Service Center.

This packed update gives you some great new features including tools for working with samples. Native Instruments explain that:- their latest update to Maschine includes a new option for working with samples in Manual slicing mode. Users can now insert slice points on MASCHINE’s pads while the sample is playing – a fast and intuitive way to begin the process of turning a sampled piece of audio into an original composition. A new Variable Scene Length feature allows Scene lengths to be set independent of the length of patterns, making polyrhythms easier to create and freeing producers from extending a pattern just to fit the scene it resides in. Internal plug-in settings are now savable as defaults, accelerating workflow by instantly loading with popular settings defined by the user.

pioneer-dave-smith- toraiz-sp-16

MUSIKMESSE 2016 and Pioneer has teamed up with Dave Smith Instruments to reveal an awesome-looking new sampler and step sequencer, the TORAIZ SP-16. This looks like a perfect piece of kit that has stuff I really prefer over the AKAI and Native Instruments equivalents such as the MPC and the Maschine. This beast is Standalone and is something I always wanted rather than be subject to the problems of a PC.

It’s built with 16 powerful sampler engines and Dave Smith Instruments-created analogue filters based on the fantastic Prophet-6 synth. If you want to load your own samples you can do this from a USB stick or from its own 8GB internal memory as it comes with 2GB of Loopmasters sounds already on board.

The Toraiz SP-16 will be available later this year and will be priced at €1599/£1279. That is quite a bit of money and I think that as soon as you have a name like Dave Smith on board you know it is going to be expensive but you also know that the quality is going to be great from his high-pass and low-pass filters to the array of outputs necessary to make this a true standalone unit.

New Native Instruments – Maschine Expansion – Magnate Hustle

native_instruments_maschine_expansion_magnate_hustle

I really like the sound of this new expansion from Native Instruments designed for chart – ready urban Pop, it has some qualities that anyone with a Maschine is going to find exceptionally useful. I also love the idea that the drums in MAGNATE HUSTLE were designed and tweaked by major label producers that know how to make a hit.

Native Instruments state that MAGNATE HUSTLE is “a versatile set of punchy samples plus four kits loaded with all-new Drum Synth presets deliver the glitz of modern pop, R&B, and hip hop – a larger-than-life sound that explodes from your speakers”. I am inclined to believe this to be true but you can decide for yourself by listening to the demos at their site.

For 44 Euros, you get 53 Drum Kits, 7 Full Projects, 1304 Samples, 41 Massive Presets, 21 Multisample Instruments and 24 Drumsynth presets providing you with a massive set of drums, synths, and guitar licks and chords. check it out today at :- Native Instruments

Namm 2014 – New Product – M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro

m-audio-trigger-finger-pro-namm-2014

Hot off the press as Namm 2014 starts its journey is the new M-Audio Trigger Finger Pro USB Controller with Step Sequencer. Is this M-Audio’s answer to Native Instruments Maschine. It certainly is a colourful piece of hardware with just as impressive software containing over 8 GB of instruments, one-shots, loops & so much more.

Like the Maschine and MPC it has 16 Pads which M-Audio say are ultra-responsive with illuminated RGB feedback. I like the fact that you get Hybrid 3 High Definition Synth by AIR Music Tech plus 16 custom drum kits from Black Anomaly (Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown). Also you get 10 great loop expansion packs from those guys at Prime Loops and 5 Artist Sound Packs from ToolRoom Records. In all there are over 2000 combined artist patches and presets for Hybrid 3 and Prime Loops content for only $399- Wow

I must say that I like their slogan “Weapon of Mass Production”

Forget Christmas – January is the Month for Music Makers

roland-connect-2014-new-products

January is my Christmas with the anticipation of what is to come. On the 15th January, Roland are to announce their new products and from the 23rd to 26th January 2014 we have the famous Namm show from Anaheim Convention Centre, 800 West Katella Avenue Anaheim, CA 92802.

namm_show_2014

So what are we likely to see in 2014? Will it be something new from access like a Ti 3 or something outstanding from Yamaha to put to bed the MOTIF and MOX series for good. I am sad to see the undeveloped Roland Fantom 8. In my opinion there is nothing like it out there. It had so much potential. I truly hope that if Roland bring out another 88 note synth it has a fantastic piano action keyboard like the Fantom 8 unlike the MOTIF or the Kronos who quite frankly should supply a much better key action for the cost.

Native Instruments seem to almost release products fortnightly. There is now another Maschine Expansion in the pipeline and we have a couple of sound clips for you to drool over. No doubt this expansion makes full use of Maschine’s new version 2.0 software with things like the new drum synths, or the fact that you are no longer limited by the amount of groups in a Project, allowing you to produce even more complex rhythm patterns with oodles of nuances.
